Last Updated on June 17, 2024 by Eve Dawes
When our shoes need an update we’re turning to RAYE
RAYE shoes review of the trendy and contemporary women’s footwear brand we’re shopping for fashion forward styles to feed our shoe obsession without breaking the bank. I’ve been stocking up on their shoes and boots as a sponsored Revolve Brand Ambassador as they’re available exclusively on Revolve. Obviously being a shoe editor I have more shoes than most! So I’ve had the opportunity to try lots of styles from sandals to boots to give this brand a proper test run and to be able to do a solid RAYE shoes review. From flats to heels, these have been the hits and misses for me and the styles I have on order right now.

The name Raye draws inspiration from the ‘Reina’ – the Spanish word for ‘queen’. Designed for queens all over the world, Raye Shoes’ wide range of footwear expand from a variety of heels to boots, flats, sandals and mules.

Who and What are RAYE shoes
RAYE shoes are from the same company that created Lovers + Friends, Tularosa, and NBD. Their styles are always trendy and normally retail for between $148-300. Although Revolve always has lots of good sale finds for under $80 too.
RAYE Shoes Review
Here’s what you need to know about RAYE shoes from sizing to pricing and quality. As well as the hits and misses with this fashion brands current styles.
Sizing
RAYE shoe sizing is very hit and miss. Sometimes they run big, sometimes small and other times they’re true to size. So always read the reviews and peoples thoughts on sizing at the bottom of each style. Revolve does offer free shipping and returns so if in doubt or if you’re in between sizes order a couple of sizes to try on. The reason I say to order both at the same time rather than waiting to swap them is because the sizes tend to sell out fast.
Quality
I think they’re well priced for the quality and I’ve found the brand to be really consistent when it comes to their quality. The leather has always been soft and not had a breaking in phase and nothing’s broken on me yet. I hope I haven’t just jinxed myself.
Style
This brand is so me for when I want a more relaxed, on trend, cool-girl look. I have so many of their sandals and heels favorited for summer as they’re such an easy way to update any outfit to make it look more fresh and fashion forward.
RAYE shoes | The Hits
These are my favorite RAYE shoe styles that didn’t hit the return pile.
RAYE White Pyramid Heels
I got these to replace the white RAYE braided heel mules I had last year. They didn’t break, I wore them out as they were my go-to Summer heels. This pair are just as comfortable and I find this style runs true to size. The pyramid heel is also great for walking on grass and uneven surfaces.
Fuchsia Alexus Heel
If you’re looking for a glam pair of hot pink heels these are it. They’re one of the comfiest heels I own with the padded soles and stretchy satin. They pretty much heel like you’re wearing slippers! In my opinion they run true to size but slightly wide.
RAYE Romy Heel
I have a slight addiction to pyramid AKA square or spool heels because they’re so comfortable and sturdy. Since I knew how much I loved my pink and white pairs I figured I’d throw nude into the mix as they’ll go with everything.
I’m so glad I did as they’re so super comfortable and probably the softest leather style I’ve had from them so far. They also come in black.
RAYE Pia Boots in black
I got these as I didn’t have anything with a square toe and needed a new pair of black leather boots. They fit perfectly (true to size) and the leather is good. I’m just not a lover of square heels and the sole left black marks on my floors and wore out fast! So I need to resole or replace them for next season.
Raye Pia Boots in Bone (Cream)
I knew these Raye high heel boots would fit since I already had them in black. I wasn’t sure what I’d wear them with at first but once I got this coat everything clicked. I love a chic cream monochromatic moment. So far the soles on these haven’t left black marks on my floor either.
Raye Nala Ankle Boots in Natural
These are so different for me and not something I’d normally wear but I wanted more of a statement boot and change from solid neutrals. I find they run about a half size big but not so much that I sized down. I just added insoles and wear them with socks which I would do anyway.
Raye Slide Sandals | Tan
I read the reviews and ordered my normal size in these for the perfect fit. Pros: super cute, beach design with a gold metallic thread. Con: No padding on the inside or grip on the soles. So you may want to have them resoled to give you more grip. Especially around water and on tile.
Raye Shoes | Black Flat Sandals
I read the Raye shoes reviews for this style and sized down half a size in these and they fit perfectly both length and width wise. I love the black beachy vibes of these slides for vacation and that they have a padded insole and grips on the soles. Which give more traction than the gold pair above.
RAYE Shoes | The misses
There were a few styles that I wanted to love but that didn’t work out for me:
- RAYE Nina Heel looked stunning with it’s cystal straps but were too wide for me so they hit the return pile.
- Raye Paulo Heel Blue raffia sandals were super cute for Summer but they didn’t feel secure enough to me to be able to walk in them. Other people love them though from reading the reviews.
- The Ever sandal was another let down as it was too wide but if I’d have sized down my feet would have been hanging off the ends. They come in white, tan or black if you want to give these braided sandals a go as the reviews are good (4.5/5 stars).
- RAYE shoes ‘Skip’ sandals run huge! Size down at least a full size. Unfortunately they were sold out in the size I needed so I couldn’t replace them.
- Yasmin boots are super cool with their cream croc embossed finish. However, they run really wide on the calf so if you have a problem finding wide boots these are for you.
Celebrities spotted wearing RAYE shoes
Celebrities are no strangers to Revolve clothing and their brands and lots of celebrities have been spotted wearing RAYE shoes. Including Reese Witherspoon in her statement red Tia heels, Chrissy Teigen in the nude Blake sandals and Jamie Chung in the Bree heel in gray python.
Shop the best RAYE shoes
These are the styles on my favorites list right now from Summer flats to heels. I’d suggest sizing down in the white Elsie boots as I find they run about a whole size big. PS Gladiator sandals are set to be a big shoe trend this Summer and the “star of the season” according to Vogue so get a head start on this trend and shop for them now.
