We all know a fabulous pair of shoes makes the outfit, these were the best at the 2023 Academy Awards from Florence Pugh to Nicole Kidman

Oscars 2023 red carpet shoes and fashion didn’t disappoint. While satin platform heels ruled supreme on the red carpet or should that be champagne carpet at the 2023 Oscars there were still some equally pretty strappy sandals and mules. Cara Delevingne, Halle Berry and Florence Pugh wore some of the most on trend shoes at the Oscars. All in different colors but all in equally towering platforms. A lot of Oscar nominees, actresses and A-listers shoes go unseen under gowns at the Oscars but these are the celebs footwear that were on show and we’re so glad they were. When you opt for a gown that shows your shoes, they better be on point! Here’s how to copy the best of the celebrities shoes from award night.

Platform heels are always a great choice to wear with gowns. To help give a height boost and because thicker soles are often a lot more comfortable than dainty strappy sandals. A block heel is also less likely to get stuck in the hem of a gown than a thicker heel. Besides the fact platforms are still majorly in style for 2023.

Cara Delevingne In Elie Saab Couture with Bulgari jewelry and red satin open toe platforms

Cara Delevingne’s 2023 Oscars red carpet look and shoes were one of my personal favorites. Her red gown was the most stunning shade of red and one of the most beautiful looks on the red carpet. The fit, draping and structure was immaculate and the Bulgari diamond jewelry and matching red satin platform sandals completed the look to perfection. They complimented rather than distracted from the gown.

To get a shoe match this spot on, they’re probably custom dyed but these red satin platforms are a pretty close match.

Florence Pugh Oscars 2023 look in Valentino and closed round to black platforms

Florence Pugh’s Oscars 2023 shoes were platforms that went with the black accents on her voluminous off the shoulder gown. She definitely took one of the biggest risks on the red carpet. From the gown that was slit up to her cleavage leaving a black mini skirt on show to the ponytail that was brushed forward to look like bangs. A look most of us can’t pull off in real life and definitely aren’t going about our daily business in.

Her shoes however, are totally wearable IRL and versatile enough to go with most dresses. These towering 6″ black satin heels thick platform soles and block heels make them a lot more wearable and walkable in than you might think! For a more practical style than satin, Valentino makes a very similar black leather style.

Rooney Mara In Alexander McQueen & Jimmy Choo Oscars 2023 shoes

Halle Berry in Tamara Ralph with Pomellato jewelry and gold peep toe satin platform heels

I love how the stylist tied the shoes in with the color of the rose gold crystal flowers perfectly. I think they might have custom dyed white satin platform heels to match her gown since a thorough hunt didn’t turn up anything even remotely similar. These are as close to Halle Berry’s satin platform Oscar heels as I could find.

Nicole Kidman In Armani Privé with OMEGA jewelry and black square heel pumps.

Nicole Kidman’s Oscar 2023 shoes complimented her gown and the pointed toes on the black shoes gave a stream line and elegant finish while the spool square heel shape gave a modern touch to her 2023 Oscars red carpet look. I’ve been wearing square spool heels more and more for comfort and the fact that they’re less likely to get stuck anywhere and are more stable on even surfaces than tiny stiletto heels.

I couldn’t find her exact pair of shoes but these are just as pretty and under $200.

Elizabeth Olsen Oscars 2023 red carpet look in Givenchy and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes

Elizabeth Olsen’s exact Giuseppe Zanotti black patent stiletto heels. For a luxe for less version for under $100 these black patent heels are very similar but with a slightly thicker ankle strap and heel.
